Having just read the news article (Guardian) about BT receiving complaints through Twitter we thought it might be useful to provide a little bit of information about why the Social Media and Digital Marketing is so important.
There has been a real buzz around the Social Media and Digital Marketing Apprenticeship and why wouldn’t there be? Facebook has over 1 billion users, over 500 million tweets are sent per day and there are now 300 million LinkedIn members. Businesses therefore need focus on their social media and brand awareness. This can only really be done by having trained members of staff who can do this properly. It cannot be left to someone to do in a spare 5 minutes as there is never a spare 5 minutes!
Yorkshire Apprentice offers the Social Media and Digital Marketing Apprenticeship and it is a fantastic programme designed to develop the skills that young people already have (and let’s face it someone 18 knows more about Twitter that someone 48!) and develop a key member of staff that can focus on your digital marketing.
The main programme in the apprenticeship is the City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Social Media for Business. Our apprentices also study the CIW web Foundations Associate accreditation. As well as a number of optional units there are 5 mandatory units which are:
- Principles of Social Media within a Business
- Principles of keywords and optimisation
- Social Networking Management for a business
- Using collaborative technologies
- Content Management System website creation
