Post exam result apprenticeship options
This coming week sees thousands of students across Yorkshire receive their A level and GCSE exam results. We are sure there will be thousands of happy students who will get the grades they hoped for. For many, the question of what to do next will then be asked. For those receiving GCSE results, the question will be do I stay at school, go to college or look for an apprenticeship? For A level leavers it tends to be the option of university or an apprenticeship.
Why choose an apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships offer the opportunity for school leavers, both GCSE and A Levels, to get started on their chosen career path, get qualified and most importantly, get paid at the same time. We all know that going to university can cost thousands of pounds in tuition fees and living costs. Many graduates leave university with huge amounts of debt and face years of repayments to get rid of them. Also, sadly, for many graduates, there is also a realisation that getting a degree is not a passport to a dream job and an amazing salary. On the other hand, an apprenticeship can offer a school leaver the option of starting their career, getting paid while they learn and train and becoming a valuable member of staff.
What apprenticeships are available?
There are hundreds of apprenticeship careers available to school leavers and just aabout every industry is covered by an apprenticeship framework or apprenticeship standard. At Yorkshire Apprentice we offer vacancies in a range of careers, from social media, web design through to business administation. Apprenticeship employers are now actively looking to hire new recruits so it is the perfect time to apply.
