The Employer AGE grant has ben husgely successful and many employers have benfited from it.
The purpose of the AGE Grant is to help employers recruit an apprentice into their organisation. It is a fund that is available to employers with less than 1000 employees that have not had an apprentice in the last 12 months on their application date.
Employers are able to access AGE Grants for up to 10 new apprentices but they have to make that committment on the initial application. They do not have to employ all of the apprentices that they commit to employing immediately.
Other criteria that need to be considered are:
- The apprentice must be a new recruit
- They must be 16-24 years old at the start of the programme
- They must be on a nationally recognised apprenticeship framework
- They must live in England
- They must not be in full-time education
Once you have employeed your apprentice, Yorkshire Apprentice will complete the necessary documents and will apply for your AGE Grant. The learner must then be on programme for a minimum if 13 weeks before the payment is triggered. You then simply invoice us at Yorkshire Apprentice and we will pay you the grant.
